Himanta Biswa Sarma visits Golaghat Civil Hospital to take stock of situation 

GUWAHATI: Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Golaghat Civil Hospital to take stock of situation.

Sarma had earlier said that 162 ICU beds with ventilators have been prepared for patients who test positive for coronavirus at at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

He added that 11000 PPP kits and more than 1 lakh N95 kits are available with the state government.

Before Bihu, GMCH will have 200 ICU beds with ventilators, Sarma said.

A new super-specialty place at GMCH was created with an investment of around Rs 10 crores by the PWD.

Meanwhile, those people from Assam have tested positive for coronavirus. All of them had attended Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Dargah in New Delhi.

Sarma had said, "The Minister added, “Our prime concern was on all those working or studying in metropolitan cities and returned to Assam. However, most of them almost passed the period for showing corona symptoms. We’ve received the blow from some others. I appeal to all those who might have been in contact with people returning from Nizamuddin to voluntarily go for the corona test.”
