HS Final Examination: Jatiya Bidyalay’s Pride Gunjan Das

GUWAHATI: With the declaration of the HS Final Examination results, Gunjan Das brought laurels to Assam Jatiya Bidyalay by securing the 10th position in the Arts stream, the only rank holder in Arts in Kamrup (M) district.

Gunjan is the son of Yamini Ranjan Das and Pratima Das of Bishnu Rabha Nagar, Noonmati. He scored a whopping 93 percent in the HSLC examination from the same school but failed to secure a rank then. This year, he scored a total of 464 with 92.8 percent.

The rank holder informed the reporters that he was hugely inspired by literature and was an avid reader of writers Bhabendra Nath Saikia and Kanchan Barua. Gunjan informed that he desired to study in Delhi University with either English or Political Science as his core subject. “I believe that the language medium cannot pose a hindrance in learning abilities. I want to become a Civil Service officer and serve Assam and my country. I urge the youth of the nation to do the same”, Gunjan commented.

The school had the state highest marks of 98 marks in Assamese secured by Anubhavee Priyanujaa. In the Arts section, 61 students appeared from Assam Jatiya Bidyalay this year, securing a cent percent pass percentile, out of which 47 secured 1st Division, and 14 secured 2nd Division. There are 18 Star recipients, 96 Letter Marks in total with 22 scoring Letter marks in English, 6 in Alternative English, 35 in Assamese, 4 in Economics, 6 in Logic & Philosophy, 15 in Political Science, 2 in History, 1 in Statistics, 3 in Sanskrit, 1 in Mathematics and 1 in Computer Science and Application.

In the Science section, 60 students appeared from Assam Jatiya Bidlaya this year, out of which 50 secured 1st Division, and 9 secured 2nd Division. There are 13 Star recipients, 87 Letter Marks in total with 19 scoring Letter marks in English, 5 in Alternative English, 35 in Assamese, 4 in Chemestry, 19 in Biology, 2 in Mathematics, 1 in Statistics and 2 in Computer Science & Application.
