GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) decided to hold the compartmental examinations of HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate)/ AHM (Assam High Madrassa), 2022. The filling up forms for this examination is from June 14-24.

The candidates; who failed in HSLC/AHM examinations-2022, could not get the qualifying marks in a maximum of three subjects and obtained at least 170 marks in aggregate, are eligible to take the compartmental examination for a single chance. The candidates taking the compartmental examination must secure at least 30 per cent marks in the subjects they appeared in, and the aggregate marks must be 180 or above. All successful compartmental candidates will be eligible for admission to higher classes in the same academic year.

The notification issued in this regard said that the candidates who would fail in the compartmental examinations would have to take readmission in their respective schools to appear again as regular candidates next year.

The SEBA will notify the date for the compartmental examination later. It will publish the detailed schedule for online filling of application forms. The filling of application forms will be from June 14 to 24. Each candidate for compartmental examination will have to pay Rs 300 for each subject and Rs 100 as a centre fee. The examination will be only for the theory papers.

Candidates coming out successful in the compartmental examination will get composite fresh mark sheets. Such mark sheets will incorporate the marks obtained in the compartmental examinations.

The SEBA said in another notification that the candidates who failed in the HSLC/AHM examinations-2022 and desire to take the examination in 2023 would have to take readmission in class X for regular classes. The SEBA will treat all candidates appearing in the HSLC/AHM examinations in 2023 as regular candidates.

The notification further said that schools should facilitate readmission to their failed students. If the parent schools cannot offer readmission to any of their failed students, the students can get admitted to any other school. However, in such cases, the students have to change their registration numbers through the new schools.
