ICAI celebrates CA Day

Guwahati, July 1 : The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Guwahati Branch, celebrated CA day with pomp and gaiety to mark the day on which the Institute was formed by a special Act of the Indian Parliament in the year 1949. The ICAI has completed 69 years of magnificent existence today. This has been stated in a prèss release.

To mark the occasion various activities including hoisting of the flag of the institute, tree plantation, Swach Bharat Abhiyan at the branch premises were conducted, in which Siddhartha Bhattacharyya, Assam Education Minister, was present as the chief guest. He appreciated the profession and their services towards the society as a whole.

At a function held on the occasion, a few senior members of the branch were also felicitated for their immense services to the accountancy profession. Branch chairman CA Rohit Agarwal, while welcoming the members, highlighted the role of Chartered Accountants in the nation building and in GST implementation. A blood donation camp was also organized wherein members, students and others donated blood. In order to promote good health, a health check up camp was also organized at the branch for the benefit of the members in association with Apollo Hospitals, the release added.
