ICICI Employee arrested for allegedly duping investors in Guwahati

Guwahati: Based on an FIR, Dispur Police on Wednesday evening arrested a deceiver from Abhayapuri area in Bongaigaon for allegedly duping investors in the name of investment policies.

The accused person identified as Kuldeep Das is reported to be a resident of Christian Basti in Guwahati and was working as an employee at ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited for the last 5 years.

The report further claims that Das had duped around 328 investors for investment policies and collected an amount of Rs 45 lakhs promising them for a better guarantee in terms of loan interest.

Reportedly, there were several complaints lodged earlier against the accused ICICI employee Das by the investors.

Police sources also claimed that he quit his job in the middle and escaped from the city and was hiding somewhere in Bongaigaon.

Interestingly, the matter came to light after several investors complained about the matter to the higher authorities of the ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company. The authorities found several anomalies in the funds and accordingly informed the matter to the police.
