The 27th edition of IIT Guwahati's Alcheringa, which is also one of the largest cultural festivals in North-Eastern India, is set to take place from February 2nd to 5th, 2023.

 GUWAHATI: The 27th edition of IIT Guwahati's Alcheringa, which is also one of the largest cultural festivals in North-Eastern India, is set to take place from February 2nd to 5th, 2023. This year the theme of Alcheringa is 'Pledge to Persist.'

Speaking with the media, Muhammad Bin Quasim, Head, Media and Outreach, said that the Organizers highlighted that the festival aims to celebrate the nation's victory over one of the most significant pandemics in history and encourages attendees to rejuvenate and rejoice in the victory.

Alcheringa will be having more than 80 events and competitions such as Electric Heels- group

dance competitions, Voice of Alcheringa- solo singing competition, Halla Bol- street play competition, Rock-o-Phonix- rock band competition, Mr and Ms Alcheringa- personality contest, and Haute Couture- team-based fashion designing event.

The festival will also feature four back-to-back live concerts, incredible pro shows, the highly-anticipated creators' camp, and never-before-seen informal activities.

In the past, Alcheringa has hosted renowned artists such as Sajid Wajid, Mika Singh, Lucky Ali, Mohit Chauhan, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, KK, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Rajvani, Ash King, Sachin Jigar and Amaal Mallik, Gaurav Taneja, Karan Sehgal, Arunabh Kumar, Babar Ali, and Deepak Pareek and many more.

With an expected footfall of 140,000 and participation from over 500 colleges, the festival promises to be a memorable experience featuring renowned artists that will leave a deep imprint on attendees' hearts, a press release said.
