Implement schemes for the safai karmacharis: National Commission for Safai Karmacharis (NCSK) member Dilip K. Hathibed

GUWAHATI: National Commission for Safai Karmacharis (NCSK) member Dilip K. Hathibed on Thursday urged the Kamrup metro district administration and allied agencies for effective implementation of Central and State welfare schemes meant for the safai karmacharis.

Referring that the arm forces have been arduously ensuring safety and security of the nation from external threat, Hathibed said, “The safai karmacharis have also been rescuing the citizens of the nation from numerous diseases by cleaning the trash from around the city. Therefore, the workers should be given due importance by rolling out the Central and State welfare schemes meant for them.” The NCSK member said this while addressing a programme held at the Circuit House premises here on Thursday. After taking stock of various problems faced by the safai karmacharis during the meeting, Hathibed urged the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) to address the grievances of the safai karmacharis and step up necessary measures to meet their demands. He also suggested the GMC to renovate the residential colonies of the safai karmacharis.
