Independence Day Security update: Huge Quantity of Fire Crackers seized by Assam Police at Boragaon

GUWAHATI, July 24: The Garchuk police seized more than hundred cartons of fire crackers from Raju Parking near Boragaon on Monday night. According to police source, the fire crackers were imported all the way from Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu and were transported to Guwahati on a truck bearing registration no TN41AQ-0668. The cartons were covered with truckload of match sticks.

Police source further informed The Sentinel that at least 12 parties are allegedly involved with the import. Ten parties are from Guwahati itself while one is from harmoti, Lakhimpur and the other from Golaghat. Further investigation is on, the police said.
