GUWAHATI: An aerial display event organized by Headquarters Eastern Air Command was scheduled on December 12 at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati to commemorate the Swarnim Vijay Varsh, which marks 50 years since the country's victory in the Indo-Pak War in 1971.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has decided to cancel the aerial display in view of the unfortunate and unexpected Mi-17V5 helicopter crash that occurred in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday, December 8.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika were among the 13 individuals aboard the helicopter who died in the tragic military chopper crash.
