Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary takes stock of Baghjan blowout situation

GUWAHATI: Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary visited Baghjan oil well site on Wednesday to take stock of the situation and assess the loss of the affected area and its people. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday directed the Industry Minister to visit Baghjan to take stock of the ground situation.

Minister Patowary on Wednesday held a series of meetings with the Tinsukia district administration, CMD and other top officials of Oil India Limited, oil field experts and representatives of various local organizations at Tinsukia.

The Minister discussed in detail the Baghjan oil well fire incident and action plan for controlling the situation. In the course of discussion, it was decided that all possible help and care to the affected people of Baghjan area will be taken by Government of Assam and Oil India.
