Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology To Celebrate It's First Open Day

GUWAHATI: The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) will celebrate its first IASST Open Day on Saturday on the institute premises in Paschim Boragaon, Garchuk in Guwahati.

The institute is celebrating the day to mark its transition as a Department of Science & Technology (DST) –March 9, 2009 – the day on which the institute was taken over as one of the 17 R&D institutes under DST. Students of 15 schools, 12 colleges and Cotton University will be participating in the event. The programmes will include opening of R&D infrastructure, display of IASST’s research output in the form of patent and product, showcasing valuable bio-resources of Northeast India conserved in its bio-resource and conservation hub to the students and guests, entrepreneur-scientist-student interactions, display of gain to beneficiaries of IASST’s adopted village and display of other facilities.
