Irani group member apprehended by Jalukbari Police

GUWAHATI: The Jalukbari Police apprehended a member of the notorious Irani group near SBI Maligaon here on Tuesday.

The accused — BirenGowala (35), a resident of Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal, was arrested while he was on his bike waiting outside the bank. Another member of the gang namely Akash Sing who was an accomplice of Gowala managed to escape. The police have seized a pulsar 220 bike (AS-27-D-7931) and some instruments that are used to break glass of vehicle from the accused.
