GUWAHATI: The Assam Secretariat Services' Association (ASSA) has issued a written appeal to urge all officers and employees of Janata Bhawan to wear 'decent attire' while reporting for duty.

The appeal stated the dresses and style of wearing them "is not compatible with the dignity of the offices concerned", as a result of which the AASA is being made answerable by the higher authorities. The appeal to dress decently has been issued in consequence of this state of affairs, the ASSA said.

The ASSA further said that the dignity of the Janata Bhawan, which is the epicenter of administration in the State, will be doubled if the officers and employees concerned dress in an appropriate manner.

Moreover, in order to maintain cleanliness in the Janata Bhawan premises, the ASSA appealed to the officers and employees to be careful while chewing areca nut or gutkha.

Last but not the last, the ASSA urged all officers and employees of the Janata Bhawan to be courteous and helpful to all those who visit the premises for various work, so that an example could be set for Government officers and employees across the State.
