Joint Action Committee for Tea Wage Workers Adopts Resolution for Tea workers’ wage hike

GUWAHATI, Aug 17: The Joint Action Committee for Tea Wage Workers (JACTWW) adopted a four-point resolution reiterating its long standing demand to increase the tea workers’ wage upto Rs 351.33 on Friday. Addressing the reporters in Guwahati, All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA) vice president Godwin Hemron and Akhil Bharatiya Cha Mazdoor Sangha general secretary Royal Suren said that the JACTWW will send a memorandum to the State’s Governor and Chief Minister to formulate their demands at the earliest.

Speaking at length on the resolution, the duo also informed the reporters that the tea workers will conduct a strike across the State’s tea estates to reiterate their demands. “The oppositions of the State will also support our cause collectively,” the duo added. The press meet was also attended by representatives from CPI, AAP, LDP, CPI (ML) and CPI (M).
