Kamakhya Devalaya Bags Swacch Iconic Place Award

GUWAHATI: Kamakhya Devalaya has bagged the second runner-up in the Swacch Iconic Place in Phase I under the Swacch Bharat Mission initiative. The award is based on ensuring clean premises of certain iconic heritages of India and will be conferred at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Friday.

The award is an initiative towards keeping the iconic heritages of India clean and is conducted in three phases. Kamakhya Devalaya, Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Vaishnodevi Temple, Manikarnika Ghat, Taj Mahal, Jagannath Temple, Tirupati Temple, Meenakshi Ghat, Golden Temple and Ajmer Sharif Dargah are the iconic places included in the first phase.
