Kamrup Deputy Commissioner (DC) Keerthi Jalli inuagurates labour room at Batahidiya Sar PHC

GUWAHATI: In a bid to encourage institutional delivery in sar areas, Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli today inaugurated the labour room of Batahidiya Sar PHC under Chaygaon BPHC Batahidiya Sar PHC is covering a population of nearly 11,000. Though OPD services have been provided at Batahidia Sar PHC, for the safe delivery of pregnant women, the people of that area earlier had to move to Goroimari CHC. For that purpose, they had to cross the river by boat earlier. This newly constructed delivery room will help the pregnant women of the greater area to get the facilities at their nearest health institution.

Inaugurating the labour room, the Deputy Commissioner requested the pregnant women of the area to take benefit of this labour room. She also said that this facility will encourage the pregnant women of the area to conduct their institutional delivery at their nearest health institution.
