Kamrup (M) DC Pallav Gopal Jha seeks new footbridge in Ganeshguri area

GUWAHATI: Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha has asked the State PWD's State Roads Division and National Highway Division to take an initiative for construction of a footbridge with escalators to connect the Ganeshguri retail market with the Barowari Puja Ghar on the opposite side. This was conveyed at a recent meeting at the DC's office. Jha informed the officials that this decision was taken after consultation with the Guwahati traffic police and the Transport Department. This would minimize congestion in the area, the DC said.

Meanwhile, according to sources, the PWD has decided not to construct the proposed footbridge connecting the Shraddhanjali Kannan park with the State zoo on the RG Baruah Road. Instead, the PWD will extend the under-construction flyover till the NRL petrol pump in the locality.
