Kamrup (M) District Magistrate Ordered Magisterial Enquiry into the Death of Under-trial Prisoner
A magisterial enquiry has been ordered by Kamrup Metro District Magistrate regarding the death of under-trial prisoner Anil Kalita (54) of Alegjari Domukha Gaon under Chhaygaon Police Station who was sent to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital from Central Jail on May 13 for better medical treatment.

GUWAHATI: A magisterial enquiry has been ordered by Kamrup Metro District Magistrate regarding the death of under-trial prisoner Anil Kalita (54) of Alegjari Domukha Gaon under Chhaygaon Police Station who was sent to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital from Central Jail on May 13 for better medical treatment.
He breathed his last on May 23.
As per the application received from Superintendent, Central Jail, Sarusajai, Prasanta Bora, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of Kamrup Metropolitan District is entrusted to cause an enquiry into the death of the under-trial prisoner. He has to submit the final report of the death of the prisoner within 15 days.
