Kidnapping Allegations Against Khilonjiya Adhikar Morcha Founder

GUWAHATI: The founding secretary of Khilonjiya Adhikar Morcha, Amitav Sharma was arrested by Dispur police on kidnapping charges. A married woman and a mother of three accused Sharma of kidnapping and later, selling her off in Nepal. She allegedly met Sharma through Facebook about 5 months back and was asked to come for a morcha meeting on January 24. She accused that he harassed her mentally and physically and forced his way with her under various threats. The victim lodged a case (342/ 384/ 354 A (w)/ 370 (2)/ 511 IPC) against Sharma. After his arrest by Dispur police, he has been handed over to Hojai police station.
