GUWAHATI: The Lachit Sena has slammed the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and the Congress for not reviving the paper, sugar and jute mills of the State during their respective regimes.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Lachit Sena'sself styled 'commander-in-chief' Amar Baruah alleged, "The BJP and the Congress during their respective tenures didn't revive the mills as the government will have to face problem in introducing schemes dedicated to the employed youths."

Further, Baruah took potshots at the BJP over various issues.

"The BJP-led government had banned the sale of beef in the nation. But how trucks loaded with cows pass through Dispur and reach 9 Mile weekly market? The Lachit Sena had handed over trucks laden with cows to the police on several occasions. However, till date the government has failed to stop this practice," added Baruah.

Lastly, the Lachit Sena slammed the BJP for organizing the Namami Brahmaputra festival.

It said, "The money which the government had spent in organizing the Namami Brahmaputra should have been allocated to the NHAI (National Highway Authority of India). Then we didn't have to pay toll gate tax in our own State. They organized Namami Brahmaputra but didn't rehabilitate the flood-affected people. Till date, Assam floods have not been recognized as a National problem."

Members of Lachit Sena underlined that in the forthcoming polls the BJP cannot come into power with their false promises.
