Law and order comparatively better in Assam: BJP

GUWAHATI: The BJP Assam Pradesh has said that the law-and-order situation in the State is better when compared to what it was in the Congress regime in the State.

Addressing the media at Atal Bihari Vajpaye Bhawan in the city on Saturday, State BJP spokesperson Bijan Mahajan said: “The law and order in Assam is well under control. The Congress is out to mislead the people of the State on law and order for deriving political mileage out of it. The law-and-order situation is much better than what it was during the Congress rule in the State. Though a few unfortunate law-and-order related incidents have taken place in the State, yet the BJP-led government in the State has been able to ensure security of life of people and their property.”

When reminded that BJP’s collation partner AGP has also criticized the government on the law-and-order front, another spokesperson of the party Muminul Aowal said: “The rule of coalition is that an ally should have equal share of success or failure of the government. If any unfortunate incidents have happened under this government, the AGP is also equally responsible for that.”
