Liquor shops to remain closed for Chhath Puja

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metro district administration on Monday ordered the IMFL and country spirit vendors of Guwahati to close their respective outlets on Tuesday from 4 pm onwards in order to preserve public peace in view of the ongoing Chhath Puja. In a communiqué, the Kamrup metro deputy commissioner said, “The undersigned hereby declares that all the retail IMFL ‘ON’/’OFF’/Club licenses and all the Country Spirit shops on AT Road from Adabari covering Maligaon-Pandu area to Vishal Mega Mart Point and on MG raod from Bharalumukh to Guwahati Club of Kamrup Metropolitan district will remain closed from 4 Pm onward on November 13.”
