Long-pending salaries of municipal employees of Assam released

GUWAHATI: Municipal employees of the State have reason to rejoice as the State Government on Thursday released their long-pending salaries.

The Finance Department today released Rs 98.6912 crore to the Directorate of Municipal Administration under the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs for the salaries and wages of municipal workers.

The municipal workers of the State faced various problems due to non-payment of salaries for the past few years due to various reasons. They can now heave a sigh of relief.
