Low-Cost Bricks to Flourish Market Soon

GUWAHATI, Sept 12: ‘Zerund Brick’, a nascent and low cost bricks innovated by three recently passed out Assam Engineering Institute’s students is expected to find a space among the conventional brands presently available in the market.

The production of Zerund brick has already been started since August this year. With its patented technology, Zerund brick is made of cement, fly ash, organic chemicals and waste plastic. Talking to the reporters here on Tuesday, David Pratim Gogoi, Rupam Choudhury and Mousum Talukdar, who innovated the technology said, “All the required tests have been done and were found to be better than conventional bricks available in the market.

Advantages of Zerund brick include low cost, low water absorption, high strength and no formation of cracks.” The plastic embedded light weight concrete bricks will be available in the market at Rs 3,800 per meter cube. Presently, the niche brand is being produced from Azara plant.
