LPG Truck Services Ceased By North East Packed Transporter

GUWAHATI: North East Packed Transporter Association has called a halt on their services since January 10, till their demands regarding Tender conditions are fulfilled.

A memorandum was submitted by the North East Packed Transporter Association to the Minister of Food and Civil supplies and CA. The association has addressed the attention of the Minister towards the Tender conditions of recently floated Tender for Packed LPG Transportation which is detrimental and unfavourable for them. As such, they had to resort to a strike on September 9, 2018, to press for their demands which include revising of the Tender conditions among others.

After the Association’s strike, two rounds of tripartite meetings were held with the Minister. The resolution of the meetings was an extension of the existing contract term to January 31, 2019, upon which the demands were to be favourably considered. The present tender term is at a close but the Association has not heard from the Minister upon which they have declared that they will resort to strike by non-corporation. The Association will indefinitely cease the running of Packed LPG Truck services from January 10, 2109 till the demands are favourably met.
