Man arrested in cheating case by Noonmati Police in Guwahati
Noonmati Police arrested a person – Prafulla Chandra Bhuyan of No. 2 Mathghoria here – for allegedly taking Rs 40 lakh from a businessman, Bimal Chandra Deka, in 2010 with the promise of providing the latter a flat in New Delhi.

GUWAHATI: Noonmati Police arrested a person – Prafulla Chandra Bhuyan of No. 2 Mathghoria here – for allegedly taking Rs 40 lakh from a businessman, Bimal Chandra Deka, in 2010 with the promise of providing the latter a flat in New Delhi. According to the police, since 2010 Bhuyan has been only giving assurances to Deka of giving him the flat in New Delhi. In 2013, Deka lodged a complaint with Chandmari Police Station and also filed a case in the CJM (Chief Judicial Magistrate) Court. On February 10, 2021, the Court asked Noonmati Police to arrest Bhuyan and produce him before it. The police arrested Bhuyan on Thursday and produced him before the Court.
