Manipuri Krishti Kendra felicitates retired IPS officer Pratap Sinha

GUWAHATI: The Bishnupriya Manipuri Civil Society, here in Manipuri Kristi Kendra, Christian Basti, Guwahati, felicitated IPS (retired), Pratap Sinha, on August 15, 2022. He retired from the police service recently.

The felicitation seemed heavily loaded with motherly affection when a few grand-old ladies blessed him and prayed for his healthy retired life. The Kristi Kendra also felicitated writer DILS Lakshmindra Sinha for a literary pension and journalist Ramlal Sinha for getting a journalist pension, 2022 at the same function.

Giving a vivid description of his upbringing by his father (his mother passed away when he was a kid), nostalgia choked Pratap Sinha's voice. He attributed his inclination towards the Bishnupriya Manipuri culture from boyhood to his father.

Pratap Sinha is a culture vulture and writer. He has a Bishnupriya Manipuri poetry collection to his credit. Even during his service, he used to organize Bishnupriya Manipuri cultural events to keep the culture of the community alive.

The speakers at the felicitation function presided over by cine artist Ashutosh Sinha, who happens to be the president of the Manipuri Kristi Kendra, prayed for his healthy retired life to enable him to devote the rest of his life to the uplift of the Bishnupriya Manipuri culture and literature.
