Meera Medhi: A tribute

Meera Medhi: A tribute

On 30th of may, 2018 our beloved grandmother Smt Meera Medhi, aged 77, resident of lachit Nagar, Guwahati, left for her heavenly abode after a brief illness.

Snt. Meera medhi was born to Lt Kamala and Kanak Neog in the erstwhile Darrang district and was married to Sri Manoranjan medhi on 28th April, 1964 after the completion of her inert exams.

All throughout her married life, she was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her three wonderful children. After the sudden and untimely demise of her husband in 1989, she took up the responsibility of holding the entire family together.

Undeterred, she bravely faced all the difficulties life could subject her to. She ensured that her three children complete their education and settle down in life.

She was the bond that held the entire extended family together as well.

A deeply religious lady with immense faith in God, she was also a prolific writer, voracious reader, artist and a fabulous cook.

Her love, care and affection of her brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as friends and well-wishers was bound and she, herself, was the epitome of sobriety, sincerity, disciplines as well as selfless love and kindness. In many ways, she is an inspiration to us all.

To say she lived a full and complete life wouldn’t be completely true as she could still have lived a bit more had fate favoured it. May her soul rest in peace. We shall never forget Grandma.

Smt. Meera Medhi is survived by a son and a daughter in law, two daughters and two son in law s and a host of grandchildren and relatives.
