MGNREGA scheme not up to mark: LDP alleged State government

GUWAHATI: The LDP has alleged that the work of the State government is confined only in its slogans of development that has not in existence on the ground.

In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, LDP's Yuva Morcha general secretary Diganta Sarma said, "The developmental works under the MGNREGA scheme were to be completed expeditiously in rural areas… The Chief Minister has directed all migrant workers returning to the State from abroad to work under this MGNREGA scheme. It is very unfortunate that they are not getting benefits from this scheme. In addition, the rate of work completed under this scheme in Tinsukia, Udalguri, Karimganj, Kamrup, Hojai and other districts is not up to the mark."
