Minister Bimal Borah seeks report on Bihu dance fiasco

GUWAHATI: Assam's Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah has asked the department's Secretary, Laya Madduri, to submit a report on the allegedly 'distorted' Bihu song and dance performed at a function in New Delhi on Monday to welcome the President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

A statement issued by the Cultural Affairs Department on Wednesday informed that the Minister has expressed concern over the reported distortion of Bihu song and dance. The statement also clarified that the troupe in question was not sent to New Delhi by the State's Cultural Affairs Department.
