Minister Bimal Borah takes stock of Industrial Department in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Industries Minister Bimal Borah visited the office of the Commissionerate of industries at Bamunimaidam and took stock of the department regarding the industrial policies, and functions of the AIDC, AIIDC, ASIDC etc.

The Minister also assessed the staff strength and vacancies in the department. The department gave a power-point presentation before the Minister. Though the department has various entities, the Minister asked officials to work as a team for the growth of the industrial sectors in the state.

Secretaries of industry S Lakshmanan and Nira Daulagapu, Commissioner of Industry Oinam Sarankumar Singh and others were present at the meeting.

The Minister approved the promotion of 85 extension officers of the Industry department to Superintendent or Assistant Manager today. The officials were holding the same post from the date of joining, stated a press release.
