Minister Keshab Mahanta inaugurated Astronomy gallery in Guwahati Planetarium

GUWAHATI: An Astronomy Gallery and Virtual Reality Zone at Guwahati Planetarium was inaugurated on Sunday by Minister of Science and Technology Keshab Mahanta.

Addressing the media, Minister Mahanta stated, "Science city project work is in progress and the construction work of Bio-tech park is going to complete. It may be inaugurated by March this year."

"It is a commendable step taken for the first time in the region by the Guwahati Planetarium to popularize astronomy among the public," Mahanta added.

The Astronomy Gallery was built in collaboration with Creative Museum designers, Kolkata and the Virtual Reality Zone was built in collaboration with the Department of Design, IIT Guwahati.

Additional Chief Secretary to Science and Technology Syedain Abbasi, Director Guwahati Planetarium Kimnei Changsan and others were present in the function.
