GUWAHATI: Minister of the Social Justice and Empowerment department, Pijush Hazarika on Tuesday held a meeting with representatives of organizations of divyangs at Janata Bhavan.
In the meeting, the Director and Commissioner of the Social Justice and Empowerment department were also present. The representatives of the organizations of divyangs put forward their problems before the minister. They also appealed to the minister to ensure reservation for divyangs in recruitment to posts in various government departments. They also sought exemption of recruitment exam fee for divyangs, construction of a restroom for divyangs in Guwahati and installing a statue of Louis Braille in Guwahati.
The minister assured to look into their demands. He said that for the welfare of divyangs, all organizations must work together.
