Minor girl rescued by Assam Police, Captor Arrested

GUWAHATI, Aug 14: The Chandmari police with the help of Garchuk police arrested one identified as Nayanmani Baniya (27) of Rangia from Garchuk area on Monday allegedly for abducting a 12-year old minor girl from Bamunimaidam. According to a police source, accused Nayanmani abducted the girl from bamunimaidam area on August 9. Ever since then, the accused, who is found to be a Uber driver kept the girl under his captive at Garchuk area. Notably, accused Nayanmani got married two years ago and has been residing in a rented house at Akashi Nagar area under Chandmari police station. Meanwhile, a case (No 730/18 u/s 366 (A) IPC R/W 4 POCSO Act) has been registered.
