Miscreant desecrate Durga idols

GUWAHATI, Oct 15: Just a day before the Maha Sasti, some unidentified miscreant (s) have destroyed the idol of Goddess Durga on Sunday night at New Field Durga Puja pandal, Paltan Bazar.

Talking to the Sentinel, executive member of the New Field Durga Puja celebration committee Amarjyoti Raha said that the miscreant (s) have partially damaged the legs of Goddess Durga and Lakshmi, Ganesh’s ‘vahana’ (vehicles), the mouse and Mahishasura’s snake. “Following the incident, an FIR has been lodged at Paltan Bazar police station,” Raha said.

Notably, CCTV camera was installed only on Monday.
