Missing mother-daughter duo rescued in Rajasthan

GUWAHATI: The city police, with the help of the Rajasthan Police, succeeded in locating and rescuing a woman and her three-year-old daughter who had gone missing from the Satgaon area here on January 16 last.

Police sources said that the missing duo - Majoni Begum (22) and Mamuja Parbin – were traced to Sardarsahar in Rajasthan on the basis of a mobile phone call. The city police subsequently alerted the Rajasthan Police and the mother and daughter were rescued, the sources said, adding that while the duo is in the custody of the Rajasthan Police now, a team of the Guwahati police will be leaving for Rajasthan to bring them back to reunite them with their family. The sources further said that the duo is believed to have fallen into the clutches of human traffickers.
