‘Mission 100 Schools’ Launched in Betkuchi High School, Guwahati

Delhi Alumni bridges the gap

GUWAHATI: A team comprising of members of Delhi Alumni Association of Assam (DAAA) visited and organised a career counselling and encouragement session under its “Mission 100 Schools” with the students of Guwahati’s Betkuchi High School on November 18.

DAAA is an organization comprising of students of Assam who studied in Delhi in the past and in present times.

Betkuchi High School has many distinctions, and among others, its football team is famous, and among many of its accolades, are being runners-up in Subroto Cup tourney in under-17, and under-14 held at all India level amongst schools in India.

During the session, there were interaction in three different important aspects and they are career counselling and career opportunities, sports and other avenues of growth and overcoming challenges of life.

The DAAA members who took part in the program were Ashim Bhuyan, Krishna Hazarika Rao, Dr Vasavvi Acharjya, Gayatri Sonowal, Saumar Sonowal, Prasanta Changmai, Kumud Medhi and Rajesh Das. The speakers elaborated on the varied career options available, the regular courses that students can pursue, including vocational training. Dr. Vasavvi elaborated on the same and explained how students can explore them. Krishna Hazarika Rao, spoke about how sports can be a good career option and Gayati Sonowal motivated the students to a great extent. Saumar Sonowal assured the school administration to extend support in building skill development among the students.

The students of the schools participated whole-heartedly and got encouraged and motivated. Many queries and questions were raised by the students about the challenges as students, family and in life.

Later on, an interactive session was organized with the Teachers of the School. The teachers gave their feedback, and they were encouraged to improve and better their performances.

The role of the School Headmistress, Sabitri Kalita and the teachers and school management was extremely important in making the event meaningful.
