Conspiracy against senior leader
STAFF REPORTER
GUWAHATI: In a letter addressed to the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Assam Pradesh, MLA Siddharth Bhattacharya mentioned that his name has been dragged into various discussions related to the suicide of a party worker and alleged that this has been done to malign the name of the party workers. He also demanded an investigation into the matter and due punishment for all those involved in it.
In his letter, he mentioned that it was very unlucky that some members of the party were involved in accepting bribes for giving government jobs, and those people demanded their money back when they could not deliver the same. The people demanded the money back and released a private photograph of a female member of the party on social media, leading to her committing suicide. The recording of a phone call by the deceased pointed to the involvement of another woman named Richa and a man named Dwiben Deka, and his name was dragged into the controversy without any basis.
In enumerating his previous designations with the party, the MLA added that he was not given any portfolio in the current government and called it a conspiracy against some of the old members of the BJP party who have been with the organisation even during its bad days by some new members who have no respect for the ideologies of the party. Mentioning that the allegations against him are completely baseless, he said that they were part of the conspiracy against him and an attempt to malign the respect of some of the old members.
