Mobile phone thieves arrested in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: A Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) team from Bhangagarh PS arrested one Ashif Khan ot Hedayatpur for stealing a mobile phone on Tuesday. The stolen phone was recovered from his possession. Legal action has been initiated. Another CGPD team from Bhangagarh PS arrested Lachit Das of Khoirabari for stealing a mobile phone from GMCH recently. Efforts are on to recover the phone from Narayanpur, North Lakhimpur where it was sold. On the other hand, an East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Basistha PS arrested one Rafiqul Ali of Chaygaon after he was caught red-handed while trying to steal a mobile phone at Beharbari on Monday night. Legal action has been initiate against him. Another EGPD team from Basistha PS arrested one Biswa Das of Dharapur after he was caught red-handed with stolen items near Sarusajai Stadium on Tuesday.
