Mrityunjoy Fully Prepared For New Year Casualties

GUWAHATI: The celebratory mood associated with the people’s desire to ring in the New Year with adventure and enjoyment, always spurt in a number of emergencies due to obvious reasons. In a press meet, the GVK EMRI 108 ‘Mrityunjoy’ Emergency Response service Team has come up with some predictions and necessary operational preparedness for the safety of the people.

Total Emergency calls are predicted to be around 1700 and 2000 on 31 December 2018 and 1 January 2019, from the current average of 1412 Emergency calls per day. Road Traffic Accidents may rise to the volume of 120 to 150 cases per day. Assault Cases might rise to the volume of 35-40 cases per day in the state. Acute Abdomen Cases might be increased to 80-110 per day throughout the state.

National Highway strip is earmarked as high Accident prone zone. People from popular Picnic spots usually report many emergencies. Picnic-going people are requested to maintain certain precautions to make sure that their enjoyment are not diluted by avoidable emergencies. The manpower planning has already been initiated keeping in mind the projected call flow. Associates are being trained to cope up with increased call flow and corresponding coordination with Operations team. Planned pre-servicing of ambulances to make maximum ambulances to be operational is already initiated. Dynamic placement of ambulances is planned to reach faster and to act as a backup ambulance for the nearest two locations. Police officials and Hospital authorities are already kept informed about the various support functions required by the 108 Ambulance team during these days. On these festive days, all are requested to treat the 108 Mrityunjoy Ambulance team as their fellow brothers/sisters, as they will be on emergency duties while all of us will be on festive mood. People are requested to provide their cooperation to serve them better. In case of any suggestion or dissatisfaction, any person can call to ‘108’ instead of arguing or assaulting the staffs on duty.
