GUWAHATI: The process of transfers of teachers via mutual arrangement has resumed in Assam with the Secondary Education Department releasing of 1,036 such transfers.
It may be mentioned that Assam's Education Minister Ranoj Pegu had recently informed the media about the modalities to be followed for allowing transfer of teachers by mutual arrangement.
Among other criteria, he had mentioned that teachers who have been working away from their home districts for over 10 years would be eligible to apply for such transfers. Further, teachers whose parents require taking care of would be eligible to apply for transfers. Husbands and wives who posted far from each other would be also eligible to apply, Pegu had said. Divyang teachers working in districts other than their home district for over two years would be able to apply for transfers, along with teachers suffering from critical illnesses and women teachers facing certain exigencies, Pegu had said.
