National conference of Chartered Accountancy students concludes in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A two-day National Conference of Chartered Accountancy (CA) students, hosted by the Guwahati Branch of EIRC of ICAI and Guwahati Branch of EICASA of ICAI, which commenced on Saturday, concluded here on Sunday.

CA (Dr) Debashis Mitra, president of ICAI, CA Sushil K Goyal, chairman of the Board of Studies-Operations, CA Ravi Kumar Patwa, chairman EIRC of ICAI along with the chairman of the Guwahati Branch of EIRC of ICAI, CA Gaurav Garodia and other dignitaries inaugurated the conference and unveiled the theme of the conference 'Antah Prerna - Inspire Yourself, stated a press release.

The conference, justifying the spirit of its theme, witnessed commendable presentations by young and dynamic student speakers from across the country. Day-1 started with a technical session on Accounting and Auditing chaired by CA Dayaniwas Sharma. The session was followed by two special sessions, one being Interaction with the Board of Studies, Academic Chairman & Discussion about New Education Policy and Ethical Values in Profession/Importance of Articleship by CA Purshottam Gaggar. This was followed by a motivational session by the Brahmakumaris and another special session on Future of Chartered Accountant in Government Services by CA Deepak Kumar Kedia. The first day of the conference concluded with a technical session on Corporate Laws chaired by CA Dr. Raj Chawla.

On the second and final day, the conference witnessed its third technical session on Taxation chaired by CA SS Gupta. The day also witnessed an interaction session with Board of Studies Operation chairman and special motivational session by CA Shivani Agarwall from Kolkata. The final technical session was on Economics chaired by CA Gyan Chand Misra.

CA Mahabir Agarwalla and CA Manoj Nahata from Guwahati were the judges for the conference, who evaluated the paper presentation by student paper presenters and awarded the top three paper presenters, the names of whom were announced during the valedictory session of the conference.

CA Swati Tejawat, chairperson of Media and Publicity Committee for the conference, informed that the conference concluded in the presence of the delegates from across the country, Central and Regional Council Members, Managing Committee, Members and all other student leaders and members of team Antah.
