National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Trains Aapda Mitra Volunteers In Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A team of qualified instructors of 1st Battalion of National Disaster Response Force located in Guwahati under the supervision of S N Pradhan, IPS, Director General NDRF imparted 12 Days “Disaster Management” training for 51 persons (7th Batch) of Aapda Mitra Volunteers from 21th Sept’ 2019 to 2nd Oct’ 2019 at Patgaon Guwahati, Assam. Total 362 Aapda Mitra Volunteers trained in 07 Batches by 1st Battalion NDRF. The subjects which were covered during the training are Medical First Responder, collapsed structure search and rescue, rope rescue, water rescue, fire fighting and on sight management of Disasters etc.

NDRF team given training to Aapda Mitra Volunteers of Assam on how to save victims from drowning & shift them to the shore & provide Pre-Hospital treatment. NDRF also trained the Aapda Mitra Volunteers in Boat Handling & Maintenance. The objective of the training was to prepare the Aapda Mitra Volunteers to rescue people during calamities and emergencies, a press release stated.
