National seminar on Saint Poet Sri Sri Madhavadeva

GUWAHATI: Sahitya Akademi, India's premier literary institution, is organizing a two-day National Seminar on Saint Poet Madhavadeva as part of Amrit Mahotsav series to commemorate the 75th year of India's Independence.

Sri Madhavdeva is an important preceptor o the Ekasarana Dharma known for his loyalty to his guru, Srimanta Sankardev as well as his artistic brilliance. He was a saint composer, poet, playwright and scholar. He was a reliqious reformer and the Mahapurusiya Vaisnavism in Assam owes a great deal to his organizing ability, foresight and exemplary conduct. The lyrics of Madhavadeva have become a source of solace to distressed hearts for over four centuries. His plays delight and instruct both the lay and learned. The Seminar will be held on 26th and 27th November 2021 at the Sahitya Akademi Conference Hall, [IT Floor, Rabindra Bhavan, 35 Ferozshah Road, New Delhi 110 001. The Seminar will begin at 10.00 am on 26th November 2021.
