NCC contingent calls on Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhavan

GUWAHATI: A contingent comprising 120 NCC cadets led by contingent Cdr. Col Jitender Singh representing all the northeastern states that participated in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi called on Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhavan, on Tuesday. Congratulating each member of the contingent, Governor Mukhi hailed the nationalistic spirit of the members and said that their display of patriotic fervor will help in materializing the motto ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’. Sharing his experiences with the contingent, the Governor elucidated the government’s vision for developing the state and elaborated on the important thrust areas. He informed the delegates about the inherent strength of the state viz. its natural resources, human capital, and rich cultural heritage. He felicitated all the cadets with the traditional gamocha and wished them luck for all their future endeavors.
