NDRF conducts COVID awareness programme in Guwahati

The 1st Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has conducted a COVID-19 awareness programme at Uzan Bazar Ghat in Guwahati.

GUWAHATI: The 1st Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has conducted a COVID-19 awareness programme at Uzan Bazar Ghat in Guwahati. The awareness programme included elaboration by the NDRF team on coronavirus (COVID-19) and types of transmission, infection, prevention and control, proper use of masks, hand hygiene and social distancing. A live demonstration on hand-washing was also shown as part of the programme. The NDRF team also organized the pledge to community during the awareness campaign.

Randhir Singh Gill, Commandant of 1st Battalion NDRF said in statement, "Lockdown is over but not coronavirus. As preventive measures social distancing, hand hygiene & wearing mask are a must". The NDRF team also conducted awareness programme on COVID-19 at village- Katamura, Changsari, Kamrup. During the awareness programme rescuers distributed face masks and pamphlets. Rescuers also placed posters and hoardings as preventive measure of COVID-19, a press release said.
