NEIFT (North East Institute of Fashion Technology) Excellency Award For Rima Das

GUWAHATI: Film Maker Rima Das whose recent production Bulbul Can Sing earned her accolades all over the globe will be presented with the prestigious ‘NEIFT Excellency Award’ for cinema at the forthcoming 9th edition of mega festival ‘Celebrating North East’ organized by NEIFT (North East Institute of Fashion Technology) will be held at Delhi on November 2.
Addressing a press conference here in the city on Wednesday, the CEO of NEIFT and chief organiser of the festival Vikram Rai Medhi informed that around 3 lakh people of Delhi NCR will witness the music, art, culture, folk dance, handloom and handicraft products, Fashion Shows etc. of north east like previous editions.
The prestigious ‘NEIFT Excellency Award’ for cinema will be presented to film-maker Rima Das whose recent production Bulbul Can Sing earned her accolades all over the globe. After the recent success of blockbuster Kunchenjunga hearth robe Zubeen Garg will mesmerize the people of Delhi with his live performance. Some of the other notable artists like Joi Barua and band, Deeplina Deka with her musicians and others. Celebrating North East is playing a constructive role in the promotion and development of north east tourism and by bringing NER closer to the policy makers, stake holders, international/ national media thereby an environment is created to portray North East as an investment friendly region. Entry to the festival is free and the organizer expects support and love of the people of Delhi like all earlier editions to make ‘Celebrating North East’ a grand success.
