Newborn boy stolen from GMCH, FIR lodged

GUWAHATI: A newborn (boy) was reportedly stolen from GMCH (Gauhati Medical College & Hospital) on Saturday. According to Bhangagarh Police, the baby was born to Sajida Bibi, wife of Manik Ali, on May 3. The couple is from Haligaon at Bijaynagar in Kamrup district.

Police sources said that a woman has been visiting them regularly since May 5. She also became quite friendly with the couple. On Saturday also as usual, she visited the couple; and, soon after that both the woman and the newborn have been missing. An FIR (First Information Report) has been filed by the family members of the newborn at Bhangagarh Police Station.
