NGO Priyobondhu befriends kids by giving School Kit for a Child

GUWAHATI: As its name suggests, Priyobondhu (bosom friend), an NGO, seeks to befriend school kids by giving them the whole lot of learning aid under its scheme – School Kit for a Child.

Through this scheme the NGO distributes school bags, pencil boxes, fluxes, tiffin boxes, erasers, wood pencils, colour pencils, picture books, exercise copies and what not among primary school students from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. On November 22 this year, under this scheme the NGO distributed such school kits among the students of JSBN Primary School in the Khetri area on the outskirts of Guwahati. Students hailing from BPL families in the area from Khetri to Killing Gaon received school kits from the NGO. This is not the first such gesture from the NGO. Earlier, it started a scheme – Breakfast for a Child. Under this scheme, the NGO did provide breakfast to school kids from BPL families. The scheme was confined to some government schools only.
