NGO 'Touch of Humanity' working for menstrual health and hygiene

GUWAHATI: Touch of Humanity is an NGO working for the amelioration of society. It had launched a project on August 14, 2021, in support of "Menstrual Health and Hygiene" and christened the project "TRIUMPH: Let's Give Freedom."

The primary agenda is to give the underprivileged school-going girls freedom from the bondage of those days of period through making menstrual health and hygiene a habit, ensuring equality by reducing absenteeism of girls in school during periods, empowering the girls by giving them five of "those" days back, ensuring regularity in studies, and active participation in other activities. Last year, the project commenced with the distribution of freedom kits, which contain sanitary pads, soaps, detergents, and chocolates, for one year to 100 beneficiaries from the remotest corners of Assam. The NGO is supported by state, national, and internationally acclaimed personalities through a social media campaign with videos that are posted on their official social media sites. This time for the 2022-23 sessions, the NGO is planning to adopt 300 underprivileged schoolgirls from the remotest corners of Assam.

Considering all the above facts, they have organized a fundraising cultural event, "Morom: Let's Spread Love," at Shradhhanjali Kanan, Guwahati recently, in the presence of eminent personalities from different fields and performers from different genres. Ravi Sarma, Padmanav Bordoloi, Ajoy Phukan, RJ Preety, Manika Borgohain, and Karabi Kakati were present at the event.Considering all the above facts, they have organized a fundraising cultural event "Morom- Let's Spread Love", at Shradhhanjali Kanan, Guwahati recently, in the presence of eminent personalities from different fields and performers from different genres.
